== How Palestinians Are Setting the Stage for End Times Prophecy ==

With the Palestinians running to the U.N. for a resolution on a Palestinian state, and the Obama administration threatening to veto it, it appears that the U.S.-led Middle East peace process [https://ancientexodus.com/lost-sea-exodus/| the lost sea of the exodus] Israel and the Palestinians is at an end. Yet, this is good news for those looking for the soon return of Christ, as the Palestinians are actually aligning toward the fulfillment of end-times Bible prophecy. This article explains.

Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas has turned on President Obama by launching an all-out campaign ahead of the U.N. vote on the resolution of a Palestinian state. President Obama has tried to dissuade Abbas from going ahead with the Palestinian request for this vote, but Abbas is not only stubbornly pressing ahead, he is using all of his resources to campaign for votes from U.N. member states.

Call it point, counter-point, as PA Abbas turns against the White House, and the administration is planning to follow through with its promise. Wendy Sherman, Undersecretary of State for Political Affairs confirmed that the U.S. will veto the Palestinian U.N. resolution. This will clearly put up the wall-possibly for the final time-between the Obama administration and the Palestinian leadership. It will eliminate a U.S.-led Middle East peace treaty between Israel and the Palestinians.

The U.N. resolution would undermine previous peace agreements rejecting unilateralism (a declaration of a state by one party). In addition, it would free Israel from previously-agreed upon responsibilities, including those in the Oslo Accords. Another major problem with a U.N. declaration of a Palestinian state is that the Palestinian Authority does not yet meet the tests of statehood, including effective government, representation, and control over a defined territory, among others.

Thus, Abbas is moving the Palestinian cause away from both Israel and the U.S. This aligns perfectly with Bible prophecy. Israel is at the very center of the prophetic picture, but neither the U.S. nor the Palestinians can be found in end-times prophecy. Since the Obama administration has its Middle East hopes tied to the Palestinians, the Palestinian traitorous move also pulls the U.S. out of the prophetic picture.

That Abbas is taking the Palestinians out of the treaty picture with Israel should not be surprising if you are a student of Bible prophecy. After all, it will not be the Palestinians with whom the Jewish nation will make its end-times treaty.

Israel is seeking a treaty that will provide its Jewish citizens with "peace and security." However, even if the U.N. resolution goes through-and the U.N. declares a Palestinian state-Israel will not have peaceful relations with the Palestinians. Palestinian leadership has already clearly demonstrated that it will never negotiate a peace treaty with Israel. This means that Israel will have to look elsewhere for a treaty that will satisfy what it feels are non-negotiables.

The Bible indicates that the treaty Israeli leadership will believe to satisfy its zeal for peace and security will be the treaty mentioned in Daniel 9:27. Clues in Daniel and Revelation indicate that this treaty will be co-signed by ten leaders of other nations; thus, the Palestinians will not be involved in this treaty-nor any other treaty with Israel. After all, if Israel confirmed a treaty with the Palestinians that the Jewish leadership believing it to meet their standards of peace and security, Israel would not need to sign a later, end-times treaty. But the Bible shows it will, and, so, the Palestinians are now out of the treaty picture for good.

The context of Daniel 9:24-27 shows that the initiation of this treaty will start the clock ticking on the final seven years leading to the return of Christ (to establish God's kingdom upon the earth). Verse 27, in particular, connects this seven-year treaty to the rebuilding of the Jewish temple.

We can see that connection with the mentioning of "sacrifice and offering." Jews cannot have sacrifices or offerings without a temple; and since the breaking of the treaty result in the stoppage of "sacrifice and offering," the two will be interconnected. This means that Israel will insist on international allowance to rebuild the temple on the Temple Mount (where the first two Jewish temples were built), and the ten leaders who will negotiate this treaty with Israel will allow it.

Even a year ago, this possibility would have seemed incredible. After all, a few years ago when former Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon simply ascended the Temple Mount, a Palestinian riot broke out. However, the climate has dramatically changed recently.

For example, based on face-to-face surveys, more Palestinians in East Jerusalem prefer to be citizens of Israel than to be citizens of a new Palestinian state. In addition, 40% stated they would probably or definitely move in order to live under the Israeli government rather than live under Palestinian rule. This means that those Palestinians would prefer that Israel control East Jerusalem, rather than give it up as President Obama proposed.

In addition, the focus of the average Palestinian citizen is on the economy and jobs (sounds like America), not on a war with Israel. After two intifadas (that did not work well for the Palestinians, as they suffered far more casualties than did Israel), after seeing Hamas get pounded by Israel after picking a fight, by realizing that Palestinian leaders do not have their best in mind, and by experiencing a surging economy with Israel's help, average Palestinians, particularly those living in East Jerusalem, are not willing to put up a fight when it comes to rebuilding the Jewish temple on the Temple Mount, particularly if it can be done without disturbing the Islamic Dome of the Rock.

Thus, it appears that an alignment is taking place toward the fulfillment of the end-times treaty with Israel, and the Palestinians are helping to arrange that alignment-and with it, bringing us nearer to the return of Christ. Indeed, God works in mysterious ways to fulfill His word!
